It primarily included a complete redesign of HVAC, process exhaust, process piping, insulation, and compressed air systems, saving millions, and bringing the project into budget.

The selenium sulfur scrubbers were not functioning as designed by the scrubber manufacturer. The scrubbers required regular shut down and maintenance, drastically reducing production throughput. Lee Montz revised the scrubber design to incorporate an in-line hydrocyclone filtration system, a cooling system, and a revised pH control strategy to keep the scrubbers on-line.
