Lee Montz is a mechanical engineer from Texas A&M, and is the founder of GL2M Engineering. He has designed just about every type of facility in his 30+ year career, including data centers, healthcare facilities, research labs, FDA validated spaces, manufacturing (solar panel and other types), vivariums, schools, stadiums, churches, food processing, and jet engine testing facilities. In addition to his engineering career, he has also worked as an HVAC equipment sales engineer for The Trane Co., and as a mechanical contractor for his own firm, Rink Pro, building ice rinks. He is also a fuel loss expert. Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, webinars, and making videos of his designs, are important tools in his arsenal. Charles Thompson has extensive knowledge of healthcare facility design, which includes state and national healthcare codes. Charles spent eight years as vice president of facilities for a 500-bed hospital and 17 years designing hospitals as a consulting engineer. Charles' engineering design experience includes manufacturing air-side systems, factory process exhaust systems, and metrology lab air conditioning. Charles has also conducted energy audits and developed energy conservation measures. Charles is knowledgeable of TDSHS healthcare facility design regulations and ASHRAE 15 central plant compliance. He has experienced with boiler and chiller plants, hospital air-side systems, medical air-side systems, medical gas systems, hospital plumbing systems, and laboratory plumbing systems. Charles has extensive management experience including project design team management (multidiscipline), health care facilities management, manufacturing facilities management, and construction project management. Charles was a project manager and team leader for an engineering firm where he directed the growth of the office from two staff members and minimal revenue to a staff of nine engineers / designers and revenues of $1.6 million. He has performed project management for a $31 million new hospital and a $40 million hospital addition, along with numerous other healthcare renovation projects.
Tom Borkowski is a design engineer for private sector, local, state, and federal government contracts. He has 30 years of design, construction management, and project management experience ranging from preparing proposals, developing drawings and specifications, estimating, to interfacing with consultants, contractors, and in house maintenance personnel.
